Achievements include: Martin’s representation reaches to international jurisdictions and governing bodies; he currently advises an international company with privacy issues in litigation, especially concerning discovery requests for personal information from European business entities under the EU Privacy Directive and the Data Protection Authorities in the European Union Member countries.
Favorite writers? I have two little boys (4 and 2 years old) who love books. And they love baseball. So, my current bookshelf is full of seattle family law baseball history books – mostly Cardinals books.
Favorite U.S. Supreme Court opinion? Last semester, the law students in my Information Privacy class were amazed at how the Fourth and Fifth Amendment cases from their Criminal Law classes helped form the current privacy laws and continue to be relevant in current cultural issues like Facebook, Twitter and behavioral marketing based on an individual’s Internet activities.
Your worst law school course? At the University of Missouri, we had a very strong Alternative Dispute Resolution program
