The last several years have been filled with increasing warnings about health hazards associated with smoking, yet even though people know this, their addiction is hard to shake off. In this wise, some kind of ban or fining might be the only way some will ever quit; but for the gentler hearts, treatment might yet do it for them. There’s a popular wise saying which goes like this – you can force a horse to a stream but you cannot make it drink the water: it will drink only when its ready. Same thing applies to someone with the chronic smoking habit. You cannot make them stop smoking even if you can force them to see a doctor or to enroll in rehab. What you can do is educate them and cause them to be aware that they can do much better. In so doing, they will have to do the rehab thing personally. It’s only if and when they really want to stop smoking that they will stop smoking. Anything that will get your blood flowing and it could be helpful in making you stop the cigarette smoking habit. I know of a few people who deal with it using exercise. True, this does not work for everyone, but have you tried it on yourself first? You might be one of the lucky few. There are conventional and unconventional ways by which you attempt to stop smoking. The best ways are simply the ones that agree with you the most. Some folks quit by getting into another habit, but most merely allow a doctor to help them. Which is yours? I think the best for you is that which will go down well with you. Don’t continue a technique that hasn’t been working for you. Instead, stick to what works in helping to stop you from smoking.
